Information regarding picking:
Wear suitable paddock shoes/boots. The grass is a bit long as
we haven't been able to slash it with the nets on, and it will be
damp. Waterproof boots please.
Clothing: layer your clothes so that as you warm up (picking
is hard work!), you can either take off a layer, or add a layer as
the sun wanes in the west.
We provide a morning tea and some lunch, but best to bring
along some of your own provisions, just in case!
OH&S: always on our mind! Children under the age of 14
are not allowed in the vineyard because of tractors & trucks. It is
considered an industrial 'workplace' when there is machinery
working.
Phylloxera: because this pesty disease has been found in the
Macedon Ranges, we must take precautions that it doesn't not spread
to our vineyard. You cannot wear any clothing, including
boots/shoes, that have been in another vineyard in the last 7-days
prior to entering our vineyard. There is no cure for this vine
disease, only prevention. Please abide by this protocol.
We start at 8:30 a.m.. Bring: strong backs, your best singing
voice and a sense of humour! Let us know that you will be coming so
that we can estimate our picking crew numbers as well as for
catering.
